A small favor from Brian
What if your photos could help tell their own stories?
I’m exploring an idea for an app that helps people rediscover the stories hidden in years of family photos. Before I build too much, I’d love your honest opinion—even if your answer is, “I wouldn’t use this.”
Take the five-minute surveyThe idea
Most photo apps are pretty good at finding a person, place, or date. I’m interested in something harder: helping you explore a memory, a relationship, or a chapter of your life when you don’t already know which individual photo you’re looking for.
You might describe a memory or story in your own words. The app would gather possible photos and help shape them into a collection or story for you to review, correct, and make your own.
You might ask things like…
“Show me how our family holidays changed as the kids grew up.”
“Find the moments that capture Dad's sense of humor.”
“Help me tell the story of our summers at the lake.”
“What are some wonderful moments between Mom and the grandchildren?”
“Show me how our neighborhood changed over the years.”
“Find meaningful moments from my daughter's childhood that I may have forgotten.”
Tell me what you think.
This should take about five minutes. You don’t need to provide your name or email. If you’re open to a conversation or trying an early version, you can leave contact information at the end—but it’s completely optional.
